Airline Collectibles Show to be Held at the Museum of Flight

Saturday, October 11, 2008, many airline memorabilia collectors and dealers from around the world plan on being at the Museum of Flight for the 18th Seattle Airline Collectibles Show.

Among the items to view and purchase at the show are airline china and glassware, models, pilot and kiddie wings, postcards, timetables, playing cards and many other items imprinted with airline logos. Airline items of all kinds have become very popular collectibles and this hobby has received considerable attention from various national, collector, and airline magazines as well as national television. The Seattle Show has been featured on KONG-TV's Seattle Live and has had articles in many of the area newpapers.

This show is patterned after successful shows conducted in Seattle since 1994. Over five hundred collectors and dealers from as many as 22 states and 5 foreign countries usually attend each show. Greg Mattocks, the organizer of the show, expects continued success this year because the Seattle Show has become known as one of the best airline focused collectibles shows in the country. Seattle is particularly appealing because of its stature as a home for airliner and aviation history.

"We are very happy to partner this show with the Museum of Flight, which we consider to be the focal point of the public's interest in aviation here with its famous exhibits, such as the Concorde and Air Force One", Mattocks says. "What better place for airline enthusiasts to pursue their interests than the Museum's Skyline Room with a view overlooking Boeing Field?"

The show will be open to the public from 9:00 am to 3:00 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to 15. Parking is free. A popular feature of the show are the door prizes.

The Museum is located at 9404 E. Marginal Way S., Seattle, WA.
